Best Cheap car-rental tips

Best Cheap car-rental tips

Here is a list of things you need to know about renting cars and saving money to the best of my knowledge:

- Usually the smaller the car, the cheaper it is to rent and the more money you will save on gas too!
- Every rental company is in competition with each other, so normally if you find a cheaper rate at another company, nine times out of ten most rental companies will match the other competitors rates to get your business. It counts to do your research, in the area of saving yourself a couple bucks.

- There are always coupons on websites for most rental car companies.
- Enterprise Rent-A-Car's are everywhere and they will pick you up free of charge if you are local.
- Every rental company will try an sell you optional coverage for your rental. Things like damage waiver's. They waive having to use your own car insurance if something happens to the car while in your possession. They are beneficial if you are in a big city with a lot of accidents happening all around you because it will save your current deductible with your car insurance. However- they are optional...Good for short term rentals.

So my Mom went out and got her self a new car. It's beautiful...

- Always ask if they are running any specials.
- Check on-line for coupons.
- Make friends with someone that works for a rental company, they can hook it up. That's some good advice.
- Depending on where you are renting prices vary due to supply and demand so keep that in mind when price shopping.
- Some companies are better than others, the cheapest doesn't always mean quality.
- If you need a one-way rental, some places do it and some don't. Research is your best friend.

That's about it. Keep in mind that you will usually need a major credit card that is not a debit card to rent a car. They swipe it for collateral. Like if you run off to Mexico and never come back. Some places will work do a credit check if you don't have a major credit card and you can leave a hefty cash deposit, but not all companies. All rental places will take a deposit when you take the car. Common sense really.

My new car ! by budje1975.
Yesterday I finally got my new car. After three months delivery time I was spoiled by this excellent piece of German technology. After driving a Fiat Grande Punto (nice car.. please don't understand me wrong) for one and a half year it is a delight to take the wheel of this baby. Please forgive the crappy picture.... it was taken with the crappy camera in my Nokia 6234....
